Ormoc City is located on the northwestern coast of Leyte Province.It is bounded on the north by the town of
Kananga and Matag-ob, on the east by the towns of Jaro, Pastran, and Dagami, on the south by the town of Albuera and Ormoc Bay, and on
the west by by Merida town. It has a total land area of 613.6 square kilometers, most of which are considered rural areas.
Terrain is characterized by a broad coastal flat land that gently rises into rolling hills and rugged mountains in the eastern
part of the city. Several rivers traverse the city. Notable among them are the Anilao-Isla verde River and the Malubasag River,
both of which bisect the city center
Ormoc City can be reached by air through the airport of Tacloban and then
travel by car or bus to this city. By boat, Ormoc City is only 2 hours from Cebu City.
Main thoroughfares include the streets of Real, Rizal, Bonifacio, and Aviles, Alegria Punta Road, Hermosilla Drive, and Lilia Avenue.
Cassava delicacies are being promoted in the city under the One Town One Product (OTOP) program
of the government.
