Profile
A suburban city in the southern part of the metropolis, Muntinlupa is the gateway to Southern Tagalog
and Bicol Regions. It is bounded on the north by Paranaque and Taguig
cities, on the east by Laguna de Bay, on the south by the town of San Pedro in the province of
Laguna, and on the west by Las Pinas City and the town of
Bacoor in Cavite province. The city has a total land area
of 39.8 square kilometers and is composed of 9 barangays.
The city is home to the National Bilibid Prison which is why Muntinlupa is oftentimes associated humorously
with crimes and convicts.
