Profile

The town of Mayoyao has one of the most picturesque landscape. Although not as popular as those in Banaue,
the rice terraces in Mayoyao is magnificent. Mayoyao, called locally as Majaojao, is bounded on the east by Aguinaldo,
on the south by Isabela, on the west by Lagawe and Banaue,
and on the north by Mountain Province. It is accessible from either Banaue or Aguinaldo through the National Road which connects Ifugao to Isabela
Province.
Subsistence agriculture is the main source of livelihood of the Majaojao people. Rice and sweet potato (camote which is called locally as lu^to)
are the main products.
Business Opportunities
Mayoyao can be developed as a producer of organic crops such as rice and coffee. It has also the potential to
produce essential oils. The town can also develop its tourist potential by promoting eco-adventure as well as mountain hiking.
