Situated on the eastern part of Ifugao province, the municipality of Alfonso Lista is the largest town in Ifugao in terms of population. It is bounded on the north by Mountain Province, on the east and south by Isabela Province, and on the west by the municipality of Aguinaldo. The town is accessible via the National Road which links the town to Isabela and westward to Aguinaldo and on to the provincial capital of Lagawe. Terrain is mostly rolling hills with narrow plains which is an extension of the great lowland of Cagayan Valley.

Alfonso Lista used to be called Potia. Its people is a mixture of Ifugaos, Ilococanos, and migrants from Mountain Province.

The town is a major producer of rice and corn. Some of its farms are irrigated by water coming from nearby Magat Dam which is also a an important source of fish products particularly Tilapia. The town also is home to several grazing lands for cattle.

Business Opportunities

Its proximity to Isabela, particularly Santiago City, Alfonso Lista can be developed as a producer of high value crops especially fruits and vegetable. Its livestock industry can also be developed furhter to produce byproducts such as leather and milk.
