Burauen is a 2nd class inland municipality located on the central part of Leyte Province.
It is bounded on the north by the town of Dagami, on the east by Julita, on the south by La Paz, and on the west by Albuera.
It has a total land area of square kilometers and is politically subdivided into 77 barangays.
