Boy used to work as an assistant stage manager at the Metropolitan Theater. He became a protege of Conchita "Tita Conching" Sunico who taught him public relations. Years later, he started Backroom, Inc. as a public relations firm but eventually included talent management. Then in 1994, he hosted Show and Tell of GMA 7. In 1999, he transferred to ABS-CBN. On June 23, 2010, he began teaching at Philippine Women's University handling Radio and Television.
